1968

FEBRUARY

Crestwood Founded

Crestwood was founded by James M. Dobbins, Sr. as Crestwood Hospitals Inc., a convalescent care provider.

JANUARY

Rebranding

Crestwood Hospitals, Inc. is reorganized as Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. to focus more on mental health programs, later becoming a leader in behavioral healthcare in California.

MARCH

Angwin MHRC

Crestwood Center at Napa Valley is licensed and opens in Angwin as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC).

APRIL

Eureka MHRC

Crestwood Eureka is licensed and opens as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC).

1999

JUNE

Bakersfield & Fremont

Crestwood Bakersfield is licensed and opens as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC).


Crestwood Manor Fremont opens as a non-IMD Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), with a Special Treatment Program (STP).

2000

FEBRUARY

Meaningful Roles & Supported Employment

Crestwood launches an initiative to hire, train, and retain peers in their programs and in the community by creating Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network (DEN), a not-for-profit dedicated to the employment of people with disabilities.

JANUARY

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)

The Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Initiative is launched to provide persons served with evidence-based tools and personalized wellness strategies that will help them decrease and prevent troubling feelings and behaviors; increase personal empowerment; improve quality of life; and achieve personal life goals and dreams.

JUNE

1st CARF Accreditation!

Crestwood's community programs, accounting office, and corporate office receives their first three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

JANUARY

New Campuses

The Crestwood Vallejo campus opens featuring Crestwood Rehabilitation and Recovery Center, a Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC).

 

The Crestwood Eureka campus opens and launches the Bridge Program, a licensed Adult Residential Facility (ARF).

 

The Crestwood Solano campus opens featuring Our House, a licensed Adult Residential Facility (ARF).

 

The Crestwood Fresno Bridge campus opens as a licensed Adult Residential Facility (ARF) and a social rehabilitation program. 

The Crestwood Healing Center Pleasant Hill campus opens and launches the Bridge Program, an Adult Residential Facility (ARF).

2004

JULY

Spirituality Initiative

Crestwood launches Spirituality as a core program element and becomes a leading behavioral health organization in promoting, training, and implementing spiritual practices in treatment.
