Crestwood Behavioral Health is honored to share that we have been named a WRAP Licensee for the state of California. For more than 20 years, Crestwood has embraced the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to help the people we serve experience healing and transformation, and to foster the wellbeing of our staff. Our collaboration with WRAP, Inc. has only grown since we were named a WRAP Center of Distinction in 2024.

WRAP is one of Crestwood’s Foundational Tools. It has been used throughout Crestwood to help individuals develop a personal wellness toolbox, incorporate daily maintenance plans to foster wellbeing, and to strengthen resilience when faced with challenges.

Crestwood currently has 154 WRAP Facilitators and 19 Advanced Level WRAP Facilitators across our campuses.

In 2026, Crestwood will have provided more than 30 WRAP Seminar I Trainings, five WRAP Seminar II Trainings, four WRAP Refresher Trainings, and one WRAP Seminar III Training (since becoming a licensee, which grants permission to offer Seminar III).

Crestwood’s connection to WRAP spans decades, as Patty Blum, Crestwood COO and Executive Vice President shares:

"A coworker gave me a small red book published in 1998 by Mary Ellen Copeland, entitled Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). She encouraged me to read it, use it, and then purchase a copy for every employee. I did. She also came to provide some WRAP training, but mostly, we all took the book home. We read it, and in my case, I shared it with my children, friends, and anyone who visited. It was often left out, and more than once, someone would take a copy home after a gathering. I would simply buy another. I quickly realized that this little red book was a precious gem—a resource that was inviting, accessible, and required no mental health background to understand. I knew it had the potential to provide support and guidance to Crestwood for decades to come.

For more than 20 years, Crestwood has embraced WRAP as an essential part of our recovery-oriented approach, helping persons served discover healing, hope, and transformation. What began with a small red book has grown into a deeply embedded commitment to wellness that benefits both the individuals we serve and our dedicated staff. Today, WRAP remains an important part of Crestwood’s culture, empowering persons served with practical tools for recovery while supporting staff well-being, resilience, and connection. We are proud and honored to be a Center of Distinction and a licensed organization with WRAP, Inc.”
